On apologies

At what point can I expect an apology from the Pope for the poor job the Church has done in defending the faith?

When will a GOP leader stand up and apologize for having done such a rotten job of protecting and advancing conservative ideals?

When will atheists apologize for the role of the atheists in the spread of communism and regressivism?

As a devout Papist, I agree with your critique of the Pope. While Christians are being slaughtered in the Middle East, he's out rescuing Muslims, not in the hopes that they convert, but to show what cool people we are. I like the idea, but we're at war and rescuing the people slaughtering us is not our first priority.

Hey there KT. Thanks.

I actually didn't have Francis' actions alone in mind here, though I'm pretty critical of him nowadays. In fact, you could expand that demand for apology across Christendom in the West. Apologies everywhere, but no one apologies for poorly doing their actual job.

What's with apologizing nowadays?

Say something that penetrates a "safe space" and you have to apologize.

Say something about LGBT that isn't supportive and you have to apologize.

Say something about Islamic extremists and you have to apologize to Muslims.

Saying something critics about mass illegal immigration and you have to apologize.

Saying something critical about Christianity or middle America and you don't have to apologize.

F_ck this shit.

Only persons who are directly harmed or offended are owed an apology. In the case of the Church it is God who is owed one in which case He already has His justice either by already forgiving the offending Churchmen in confession or by sending them to either Purgatory or Hell upon their death. It is not expedient to channel one's inner Uzzah to try to straighten out the shaking Ark least the anger of the Lord is kindled against them.

Except the GOP Faithful choose these leaders and indifferently stood by and let them run things cause they could not be bothered. Also given the nature of politics I could care less about an apology.
McCain and Romney both "apologized" for loosing. That is fine for Church but in politics unlike religion the motto is "What have you done for me lately?" Thus I am indifferent to their apologies. In politics I want results & if you don't give them you will be swept aside for someone who can produce.

Atheist don't need to apologize for Stalin or Communists. The only time this is an issue is when they insist Catholic & there religious living today have to apologize for the Inquisition. In which case the demand for an apology on their part is purely to point out a double standard. Also given the Atheist world view. The Inquisitors and their victims are dead and no longer exist. What good does it do for Catholics to apologize for crimes committed by others to people who no longer exist?

All this seems obvious to me.
