More good papal news

“The secularization of large sectors of society, its alienation from the spiritual and divine, leads inevitably to a desacralized and materialistic vision of man and the human family,” the June 26 declaration said. “In this respect we are concerned about the crisis of the family in many countries.”
“The Armenian Apostolic Church and the Catholic Church share the same vision of the family, based on marriage, an act of freely given and faithful love between man and woman.”
As I always say - I give credit where it's due.

Rather flies in the face of Marxism, so to speak, but there you go.

The Crude doth protest too much.....

So Ben, will you be apologizing to the LGBT people anytime soon?

I am all for it.

I remember here in New York Act Up invading St Patrick's Cathedral. But I also remember the Trad Followers of false visionary Veronica Lueken years before shouting "perverts on parade" at gays during the gay pride parade. I remember reading about a Lesbian Catholic who "came out" as a celibate (i.e. chaste) & still having her mother reject her. I remember growing up with lads who thought gay men where "faggots" but it was "cool" if their girlfriends kissed other girls and might entertain a threesome.

You have gay friends and I believe family members whom you care for. How is what the Pope said wrong? It isn't by any rational standard.

Of course, Ben.

You tell me I'm going to leave the Church? Here's a better prediction: I'll still be pointing out what's wrong with same-sex marriage and sodomy way after you've bent over backwards to find praise for it. Which you would do purely because Francis praised it.

'Come on Crude, anal sex is an expression of love. It may be imperfect but so is everything in life these guys love each other, and okay they're polyamorous but as the Pope said this is still a true expression of closeness and its akin to the love Christ has for us, we should respect it, anything less is so irrational, I weep for you my brother you are rejecting God by not praising anal sex.'

And on and on it goes.

Just remember: you keep attacking me for defying the Church, but Francis says those who openly defy the Church should be respected, praised and apologized to.

In other words, Francis believes you owe me an apology.

Yes I've seen it happen before with other serial pope bashers. I hope to be proved wrong for your sake. Indeed if you stay Catholic just to "spite me". I am all for it. He who leaves the Ark of Salvation will perish in the flood.

As a Thomist I would do that anyway since the concept of "pure evil" is an oxymoron. Evil is after all privation or a disordered pursuit of the good. Thus logically why would I ever not praise the good in things? I've done this with Atheists. Since when is this wrong? I once slammed Skepo proving to him I could find good in Satan(an argument I shamelessly stole from Fr, Brian Davies).

No Crude. Love is willing someone's good and thus a gay relationship is good as so far as the participants will the good for each other. To read into the Pope's words the idea the act of anal sex is being called good by him is slander and psychotic stupidity I would expect from Paps or Skepo. Who knew you have devolved into a Theistic Personalist twat?

>Just remember: you keep attacking me for defying the Church, but Francis says those who openly defy the Church should be respected, praised and apologized to.

No when he made his famous "Who am I to judge" line he condemned gays belonging to "lobbies". He is thinking of all gay people in abstraction. Not the anti-Catholic SJW loonies. You sophistic nonsense has mega devolved,. Do you suppose when the past Popes called for apologies to the Jews they was pardoning Chaiphas or condoning extremist Zionists( people who scare Catholic Zionists like moi)?

PLUEEZ!!

>In other words, Francis believes you owe me an apology.

Actually he beleives we both owe each other one The question is do you want one for the sake of friendship which you claim you have for me? Or one upsmenship?

I offer you one for the sake of our past friendship. But our friendship is in effect ended. We cannot ever have a civll conversion again.

Now I must go & try with all my will to leave you the last word. (If I leave I will be accused of taking a cheap parting shot & running away. If I stay I will be accused of arguing till I wear you down.)

So I should just go. But don't think me too heartless. I have enjoyed your blog but on this issue we can have no common ground.

Bye Crude,. God be with you.

Funny how the 'literal words' of the Pope always matter so much, except when he doesn't say what you need him to say. Then you can interpret him to your heart's content.

We cannot ever have a civll conversion again.

Actually, I can have one just fine. You're so wrapped up in being Papal Defender that you can't even understand why people are upset. They're just cast out as crazy psycho lunatics who you mock and namecall, no matter their history. Because what? They criticized the Pope? Ever see a fucking pride parade? There's leather nuns and worse shit there. To those people, the Pope apologizes.

Let him apologizes to the Catholics he's harmed too.

Ben Yachov has expressed to me that he does not want to comment here anymore, but he demands I stop 'luring' him by addressing points he makes, etc.

A compromise has been reached: I will post about whatever I like, and I will throw his comments down the memory hole.

He may ask for permission to comment if he wants it back.
