The multiculturalism of the modern nationalists

Oddly enough, I think it's the nationalists who really support a multicultural world. Modern nationalists tend to believe in borders for themselves, and for just about anyone else who wants them. The chinese can do what the chinese want, the japanese what the japanese want, the germans what the germans want. Keep it within one's own borders, and it becomes a largely - not completely, but largely - internal dispute. That's as multicultural as it gets, gents.

The Multiculturalist wants a world with superficial differences - dress, language, music, cuisine - and fundamental similarities in the areas of religion and values.

I include religion because it seems clear that while toleration of all religions is proclaimed, this is so only to the extent that the religions so tolerated supply gods, canons, commandments, practices and sacraments that are not repugnant to those of the Supreme Religion. Temporary allowance, goes the thinking, can be made for immigrants who haven't had enough time yet to convert, but the religion of those pesky natives, who should know better but stubbornly insist that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the true Son of God, must be extirpated as it obviously can't be tamed.

We tolerate all religions so long as all of your doctrines change in conformance to the State Vision!

It's Rome all over again.

So-called "multiculturalism" doesn't imply a love, or even an understanding, of foreign cultures. It's simply a loathing of one's own. The only thing the typical "multiculturalist" knows or cares about the cultures he claims to love is that they are hostile to Western civilization and hence useful for tearing it down.
